Celebrating Our 2024 Accomplishments & Looking Forward to 2025!

Dear Members and Friends,

As 2024 comes to a close, the Fairfax Civic and Commerce Association (C & C) is excited to reflect on a year full of achievements, connections, and community spirit. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated in and supported our initiatives. Together, we’ve built a stronger, more vibrant Fairfax.

Here’s a look back at some of our most memorable accomplishments and events from this past year:

2024 Highlights

* Holiday Lighting Contest: In December 2023, our town shined bright with festive displays, and we were thrilled to give the business award to Grapevine Gifts & Rentals and the residential award to Brenda Sandmann for their outstanding efforts.

* Annual Banquet: This year’s banquet honored beloved long-time business owners, Dr. Tom Gilles and Pat & Peggy Lehar. Attendees enjoyed a fantastic evening with incredible door prizes donated by our generous local businesses. It was a fun and heartwarming celebration of Fairfax’s entrepreneurial spirit.

* Welcome Bags: New residents were greeted with our thoughtfully curated Welcome Bags, filled with local goodies and essential information about Fairfax, fostering a sense of belonging.

*  Membership Recognition: We proudly distributed Membership Certificates to our valued members, showcasing their vital role in our organization.

*  Community Garage Sales & Food Trucks: Both the spring and fall sales were hugely successful, drawing residents and visitors alike to shop local and enjoy delicious food from our favorite food truck, Momma Maria’s.

Digital Advertising Collaboration: We partnered with the Fairfax EDA and Northland Lumber & Supply to feature local businesses on their electronic billboard, providing high-visibility advertising and showcasing the best Fairfax has to offer.

After Hours Networking Events: Our gatherings at the City Park, Mayflower and Squirrel’s Bar & Grill provided a casual and fun atmosphere for networking and collaboration among local businesses.

*  Supporting Local Nonprofits: We were honored to support Firle Ag Solutions and Titan Pro – Tom Palmer as they hosted three fundraisers for the Walk in the Park cancer support group, helping to make a meaningful difference in our community.

* Dayz of Thunder: From sponsoring the popular TV drawing to supporting the medallion hunt and participating in the parade, this event brought excitement and tradition to Fairfax.

National Night Out: Co-sponsored an unforgettable evening featuring a hamburger and hotdog meal, lively music from The Misfits, and fun activities for kids, including jump houses.

Fairfax EDA Mural: Collaborated on creative ideas for the new mural, which will become a lasting symbol of Fairfax’s charm and heritage.

Enhanced Online Presence: Expanded our efforts to promote local and regional businesses through engaging posts on social media and our website.

* Farmers Market: Proudly sponsored this beloved tradition, connecting local growers and artisans with the community.

*  Yard of the Month Contest: Celebrated the hard work of our residents with monthly awards for exceptional landscaping and curb appeal.

*  17-Mile EDC Event: Participated in this inspiring event to support and learn about entrepreneurship opportunities in our region.

* Pumpkin Patch & Giant Pumpkin Contest: A festive favorite for families, complete with fun activities and stunning pumpkins.

* Trunk or Treat: Hosted a safe and exciting Halloween experience for children, complete with creatively decorated tables.

*  Visit the Village Shop Local Event: Encouraged holiday shopping in Fairfax with our annual shop-local initiative, showcasing unique offerings from our local businesses.

* Santa Day: Delivered holiday cheer with Santa visits, gift bags for the kids, family photo ops and community warmth.

*  Holiday Lighting Contest: Continuing  our tradition of recognizing homes and businesses that above and beyond with festive decorations we will be judging the 2024 event December 18-22.

*  SIP, SHOP, and Support Local BINGO: Spotlighting efforts to boost local holiday shopping with a creative twist, combining fun and community spirit.
